Third Verse

The production of Charm City Doll's final Verse

For the last Verse, I sent a simple sketch and a photo of my daughter. Even though Hyacinth was to be a boy, she was the inspiration behind the line.

This 3rd mold would be sculpted by Angel.








Thus, the final Verse was completed.


Second Verse

I sent my sketches again to Ivy.

And photos of the initial mold were sent for approval.




Well, I was pretty impressed by her talents.  Once again, there were just a few little changes.
I wanted a wider smile and chubbier cheeks.





Ivy delivered!

Just in time for our first BJD Expo



And that is how a second Verse was made.

I sent my rough sketches to Ivy at Weiju Factory in China.



April 2011










I was very pleased with Ivy's initial sculpt.  She really captured my vision.
There were, however, some small tweaks I wanted to make.  I searched the Chinese word for "nipples" and it made Ivy LOL. Besides adding this one little anatomical feature, I was looking for a larger eye.

She came back with these revisions:






And casting began!

A month later, the prototype was cast.
